Automation Allow and Deny Lists

The TWA automation bot has the ability to filter which users will receive automated messages via the configuration of the Allow and Deny lists.

These are configured in SQL under configuration.AutomationUserAllowList and configuration.AutomationUserDenyList – you must populate the relevant user UPNs.

If you are a SaaS customer, reach out to software.support@modalitysystems.com for Modality to configure them.

How do the lists interact?

Which list is populated?Who will receive automation messages
No list populatedall users will receive messages
Only AllowOnly users explicitly on the allow list will receive messages
Only DenyOnly users NOT on Deny list will receive messages
Allow and DenyOnly users explicitly in the allow list and NOT on Deny List will receive messages

Note that users in the Deny list always have priority over users in the Allow list. The behaviour of these lists changes depending on whether one or both lists are populated.

Note, there is one allow/deny configuration for Usage and Governance and one for Calls and Meetings.

Note, Anonymised users will not receive automation messages regardless of the allow/deny lists.
